Christmas in the capital – superb shopping and festive fun
With its glittering lights and eye-catching festive window displays, London's West End is the ultimate Christmas shopping experience. Alternatively, hop off the train at Stratford and walk the few steps to Westfield Stratford City. With over 250 stores you can wrap up your present buying, then relax and enjoy some festive treats in one of the many food and drink outlets.
London also has plenty of seasonal events and activities to get you feeling really Christmassy. Go ice skating at Somerset House. Take the kids to Hyde Park's spectacular Winter Wonderland. Sip a warming mulled wine at the Southbank's sparkling Winter Market. Or visit the capital's newest festive destination: Christmas in Leicester Square, featuring Santa's Grotto, a traditional market and smash-hit theatrical sensation La Soirée.
Christmas in East Anglia
Christmas at Chapelfield
You'll find gift ideas galore at Intu Chapelfield. It's Norwich's premier shopping destination with over 90 stores, as well as cafés and restaurants.
This year in association with their charity partner, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), Chapelfield had 2,017 individually-numbered glass baubles created to help raise money for EACH’s Nook Appeal! Head down before 24th December to purchase one!
Looking for ways to keep the kids entertained? How about a trip to meet Santa! House of Fraser will be turning their top floor into a festive maze as children of all ages are invited to see Santa before he flies off to the North Pole to fetch all of their presents. Catch him between 30th November and 24th December.
Bury St Edmunds Christmas Fayre
You can find the fayre all around Bury St Edmunds from 23rd to 26th November. Not only are there over 300 stalls in different locations, there are also some great shopping areas which are not to be missed!
As well as 300-plus stalls at the Christmas market you will find a traditional street market, a contemporary shopping centre and a great selection of independent retailers making Bury St Edmunds a shoppers’ paradise!
With quaint cafés, traditional tearooms, cosy pubs and award-winning restaurants there is something to suit everyone.
Tunnel of Light
In 2016 thousands flocked to Norwich to experience the UK’s first Tunnel of Light when it was unveiled in the heart of the city centre.
The 45-meters long, 4 meters high and 6 meters wide tunnel made from 50,000 pulsating LEDs with sequenced lights that reflected the patterns and colours of the Northern Lights proved an instant Instagram and Snapchat sensation, with the masses taking an unearthly number of selfies.
Attracting all ages, this beautiful Christmas attraction promises to be so again in 2017 with the addition of a stunning glittering tiara – the Tunnel of Light will once again be the belle of the ball!
The Tunnel of Light returns to Norwich from Thursday 16th November to Friday 5th January!
