E-tickets in-app

If you buy an e-ticket* (available on selected UK routes) and download it to the Greater Anglia app, it will soon look the same as the version that is emailed to you. You’ll no longer need to activate an e-ticket in the app, simply ensure that you have your e-ticket in the Ticket Wallet before travel.

We’re also adding a new Archive feature, allowing you to archive away used tickets. To archive a ticket, scroll to the bottom of a ticket and tap ‘Archive ticket’. Archived tickets are accessible at the bottom of your list of tickets in the Ticket Wallet.

These changes will appear in an app update coming soon.

*m-ticket functionality in the app is unchanged, and you still need to download and activate an m-ticket before you travel

If you select ‘e-ticket’ as the delivery option when buying a ticket, this will now appear as a PDF in the app’s Ticket Wallet. This e-ticket PDF can still be used exactly as before, at station gates and on the train, there’s just no need to activate it.

If you select ‘m-ticket’ as the delivery option, this functionality is unchanged. M-tickets still need to be download and activated before travel.

Any purchases made after updating to the latest version (2.12.00) of the Greater Anglia app will be delivered to your Ticket Wallet as an e-ticket PDF. This e-ticket PDF is the same one that is emailed to you. Unlike m-tickets, there’s no need to activate an e-ticket. Simply ensure that you have the e-ticket in your app’s Ticket Wallet before you board.
