Thousands of flames in the dry moat of the Tower of London as part of an installation called Beyond the Deepening Shadow: The Tower Remembers, to mark the centenary of the end of First World War
Leading up to and including Armistice Day, a procession led by Yeoman Warders of the Tower of London emerges from the fortress at 5pm every evening and lights thousands of individual flames to remember the fallen. This epic visual spectacle, designed by Tom Piper, is accompanied by a specially-commissioned sound installation of words and choral music created by artist Mira Calix. Take the Circle line from Liverpool Street station to Tower Hill.
