Kelis performs at the Orange RockCorps concert at Wembley arena
Kelis is showing off her milkshake again as she promotes her album Flesh Tone. The lead single Acapella has already reached the top spot on the Billboard's Dance/Club Play Songs chart. In 2003 her single Milkshake reached the same spot selling 1.2 million digital singles. Although her new release features the usual R&B soulfulness, the album marks a moment of rebirth for Kelis as it is mixed with fresh sounding techno-electro breaks infused with heavy bass riffs. Flesh Tone is Kelis' first studio album in four years and for this she has worked with several influential producers including David Guetta,, Free School, Boys Noize, Burnz, DJ Ammo and Benny Benassi. Since releasing her debut album Kaleidoscope in 1999 Kelis she has achieved a Grammy nomination for her infamous Milkshake single, a BRIT Award for International Female Breakthrough Act, an NME Award for Best R&B/Soul Act and a Q award for Best Music Video for Caught Out There. Never one to play the wall flower Kelis is back after taking time out, during which she became a Mum, and is delivering the Good Stuff once more.
