Check before you travel

Hare Fares are not available on Monday 8 April due to a rail strike. Strikes are announced two weeks beforehand so make sure to check your journey on our journey planner or app before you travel.

Hare Fares are available for all Greater Anglia journeys except those wholly within the Oyster PAYG area, and Stansted Express services between London, Stratford, Tottenham Hale and Stansted Airport.

The offer also excludes Travelcard tickets which means you have to buy a separate London Underground ticket.

Hare Fares are off-peak day return tickets so they're very flexible. You can take any train on the day of your booking if it's a Saturday or Sunday, and most trains on weekdays.

If you're travelling on a weekday, here's a guide to help you buy a ticket:

  • Earliest arrival in London – 10.00
  • Earliest departure from London – 09.30
  • Earliest departure on a non-London journey – 08.45
  • Evening peak restrictions only apply from London to Ipswich and beyond between 16.31 and 18.34. This does not apply during the school holidays (2-12 April and 28-31 May).
  • London restrictions also apply at Stratford and Tottenham Hale, with slight timing changes.

Please note, Hare Fares are not available on the 08.03 Norwich to London (on weekdays) and the 19.02 London to Norwich (on weekdays except during the school holidays on 2-12 April and 28-31 May).

You can buy these exclusive offers easily on our website and app. If you're unable to purchase online, you can call us on 0345 600 7245 option 2 to buy over the phone.

Sorry, no. Hare fares apply to Standard only.

Sorry, Railcards and other discounts are not available with this offer. However, up to 2 kids aged 5-15 can travel for £2 each with an adult.
