Amended services in the Colchester area from Friday 27 December to Wednesday 1 January

Track work is taking place at Colchester, closing various lines during the Christmas / New Year period.

Friday 27 to Tuesday 31 December:

Some lines through the station will be shut, reducing the available line capacity through Colchester.

Services to / from Clacton-on-Sea / Walton-on-the-Naze will be amended to run between Colchester and Clacton-on-Sea / Walton-on-the-Naze only. Customers travelling to / from London will have to change trains at Colchester.

Some trains to / from Norwich / Ipswich will be amended to run between Norwich / Ipswich and Colchester only. Customers on these trains will have to change trains at Colchester.

Wednesday 1 January:

All lines through Colchester station will be shut.

Services to / from Clacton-on-Sea / Walton-on-the-Naze will be amended to run between Colchester Town and Clacton-on-Sea / Walton-on-the-Naze. Replacement buses will run between Hythe and Marks Tey for customers travelling towards London.

Buses also replace trains between Marks Tey and Ipswich.
