As a result of high temperatures across the region, speed restrictions have been imposed to protect the infrastructure on Monday 23rd July. The reduced speeds prevent rails from buckling, as the lower speeds exert less pressure on the rail and they protect overhead lines, which can sag during high temperatures.

As a consequence of the slower speeds, Greater Anglia have had to reduce the train service from 14:00, the amendments are as follows:

16:17 London Liverpool Street to Witham service will start at Shenfield (16:41)

16:47 London Liverpool Street to Witham service will start at Shenfield. (17:11)

18:38 London Liverpool Street to Ipswich will start at Colchester (19:39)

16:24 London Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria has been cancelled.
