Buses replace trains between Shenfield and Southminster / Southend Victoria on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 November

Electrification work on the Southend Victoria line is resulting in all lines being blocked between Shenfield and Southminster / Southend Victoria.

From 07:30 on Saturday until 21:00 on Sunday, buses will replace trains between Shenfield and Southend Victoria and also between Wickford and Southminster.

Project Information:

As part of the Railway Upgrade Plan, Network Rail are replacing the overhead wiring system on the Southend Victoria branch line as part of a £46m investment. The wiring system currently in place along the route was installed in the 1950s and needs replacing to prevent frequent failures that cause delays, in order to improve reliability of the rail service.
