Due to a railway embankment being damaged at Ingatestone some lines are blocked.

Train services running through this station may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 02:00 30/01.

Customer Advice

Due to a railway embankment being damaged at Ingatestone, services will be disrupted.

Services running between Liverpool Street, Colchester, Clacton-On-Sea, Ipswich and Norwich

will only have one line available to them between Shenfield and Chelmsford.

Due to this we have had to reduce the service to allow for the time it will take using only one line for both directions.

Customers are advised to expect delays, alterations and cancellations.

There are two trains an hour running from Liverpool street via Colchester to Clacton on Sea and Norwich.

Clacton services

Will depart Liverpool Street on the hour, and Clacton On Sea at 5 past the hour. Apart from the below differences.

Calling at Stratford, Shenfield, Ingatestone, Chelmsford, Hatfield Peverel, Witham, Kelvedon, Marks Tey, Colchester, Wivenhoe, Thorpe Le Soken, Clacton On Sea.

And the reverse order for the opposite direction.

First trains:

06:02 Liverpool Street to Clacton On Sea

05:20 Clacton On Sea to Liverpool Street

06:38 Clacton On Sea to Liverpool Street additional service.

Norwich services:

Will depart Liverpool Street at half past the hour, and Norwich on the hour.

Calling at Stratford, Shenfield, Ingatestone, Chelmsford, Hatfield Peverel, Witham, Kelvedon, Marks Tey, Colchester, Manningtree, Ipswich, Stowmarket, Diss, Norwich.

And the reverse order for the opposite direction.

Braintree services:

Customers are to change at Witham for a shuttle service starting and terminating at Witham.

Colchester Town services:

Will be served by Colchester to Walton On The Naze trains only, operating a Saturday service.

Manningtree to Harwich Town:

Will be operating on a Saturday service. Departing Manningtree on the hour, and departing Harwich 28 past the hour. Apart from the below differences.

First trains:

05:24 Harwich Town to Manningtree.

06:01 Manningtree to Harwich Town.

Incident information:

Due to the damage to the embankment at Ingatestone, one of the two lines is blocked. Services are able to use one line for both directions.

Network Rail engineers will be working on the affected area to remove the debris and repair any damage.

Customers are advised that on Saturday 23 January there is planned engineering work taking place on the line.

We are currently in a national lockdown, so we ask you to follow government advice and only travel for work if essential or for other legally permitted reasons.
