Service Disruption due to an earlier trespass incident between Cheshunt and Broxbourne

Following a trespass incident between Cheshunt and Broxbourne the line has now reopened.

Impact

Train services running through these stations are returning to normal but some services may still be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until the close of service tonight.

Customer Advice

A vulnerable and suicidal person was sitting on a footbridge over the railway earlier between Cheshunt and Broxbourne, a Police negotiating team have now persuaded the person to leave the bridge to somewhere they can be given appropriate care. whilst the person was on the bridge it was unsafe to run trains between Cheshunt and Broxbourne.

Greater Anglia and Stansted Express services are now able to run between Liverpool Street / Stratford and Broxbourne, Hertford East, Bishop's Stortford, Stansted Airport and Cambridge in both directions, however services will be subject to delay, cancellation and short notice alteration.

LEA VALLEY LINE STATIONS AND HERTFORD EAST

The Underground Victoria line runs from Tottenham Hale via Seven Sisters to King's Cross Connecting with the Circle, Hammersmith and City and Metropolitan lines to and from Liverpool Street. Journey time approximately 30 minutes allowing for changing at Kings Cross

The following alternative routes are available for customers wishing to travel to stations between Hackney Downs and Waltham Cross via Tottenham Hale and Waltham Cross.

Hackney Downs is served by London Overground Rail services (journey time 9 minutes) or Transport for London bus route 48 from Liverpool Street. (Journey time 20 to 25 minutes).

Tottenham Hale: The nearest alternative station is Seven Sisters): London Overground services run between Liverpool Street and Seven Sisters (journey time 17 minutes) and connections can be made with Transport for London Victoria Line Underground services between Seven Sisters and Tottenham Hale (journey time 2 minutes).

Northumberland Park: the nearest alternative stations are Bruce Grove and White Hart Lane. London Overground services run between Liverpool Street and Bruce Grove (journey time 19 minutes) for the Transport for London bus routes 318,341 and 476 to and from Northumberland Park and White Hart Lane (journey time 21 minutes) for Transport for London bus route W3 to and from Northumberland Park.

Angel Road: the nearest alternative station is Silver Street. London Overground services run between Liverpool Street and Silver Street (journey time 23 minutes) connecting in to Transport for London bus routes 34 and 444 to and from Angel Road.

Ponders End: the nearest alternative station is Southbury. London Overground services run between Liverpool Street and Southbury (journey time 29 minutes) via Edmonton Green (journey time 25 minutes) connecting in to Transport for London bus route 191 to and from Ponders End, Connections can also be made to the 191 at Edmonton Green

Brimsdown: the nearest alternative station is Southbury. London Overground services run between Liverpool Street and Southbury (journey time 29 minutes) connecting in to Transport for London bus route 307 to and from Brimsdown, the 307 also serves Enfield Town London Overground station.

Enfield Lock: the nearest alternative station is Turkey Street with a walking time of about 20 minutes, London Overground services run between Liverpool Street and Turkey Street (journey time 32 minutes) via Edmonton Green and Southbury. Transport for London bus routes 121 from Southbury and 491 from Edmonton Green both serve Enfield Lock.

Waltham Cross: the nearest alternative station is Theobalds Grove with a walking time of about 20 minutes, London Overground services run between Liverpool Street and Theobalds Grove (journey time 34 minutes)

Transport for London bus route 279 runs between Edmonton Green and Waltham Cross and route 317 runs between Enfield Town and Waltham Cross connecting with London Overground services from Liverpool Street.

Transport for London bus route 149 runs from Liverpool Street to Edmonton Green via Seven Sisters, Bruce Grove, White Hart Lane and Silver Street, Bus route 279 stops outside Seven Sisters station and runs via Bruce Grove, White Hart Lane and Silver Street, Edmonton Green and close to Southbury and Turkey Street to Waltham Cross and both can also be used to connect with the bus routes listed above.

Hertford East: The nearest alternative station is Hertford North (20 minutes walk from Hertford East) which is served by Great Northern services to and from Moorgate journey time 50 minutes. Moorgate is a 5 minute walk or one stop on the Circle, Hammersmith and City and Metropolitan lines from Liverpool Street.

STRATFORD TO TOTTENHAM HALE VIA LEA BRIDGE

Customers wishing to travel between Stratford and Tottenham Hale are advised that Oyster card and Contactless payment card holders also TravelCard and Oyster Card holders without Zone 1 season ticket validity can travel via Liverpool Street at no extra charge. Journey time Stratford to Tottenham Hale via Liverpool Street 20 to 30 minutes.

Alternative routes for Lea Bridge:

Transport for London bus route 48 connects Liverpool Street, Hackney Downs (for services to Tottenham Hale) and Walthamstow Central with Lea Bridge.

Bus routes 55 and 56 run from Lea Bridge to Hackney Downs for Greater Anglia services to Tottenham Hale

Bus route 158 from Markhouse Road or Church Road 10 minutes walk from Lea Bridge

serves Blackhorse Road for Victoria Line services to Tottenham Hale and Leyton and Stratford for Central Line Underground services,
