Charles

Train Presentation Team Member

My name is Charles and I work for the Train Presentation Team at Liverpool Street.

I have worked for train presentation for 12 years. My job is to ensure that the trains I am responsible for leave Liverpool Street cleaned to the highest standard so passengers are happy with the environment that they travel in.

I usually work the afternoon shift. My main responsibility is to ensure that all litter is picked from the train whilst it is in Liverpool Street before it departs to another destination, and that all bins are emptied. Other tasks that I may do include toilet cleaning and sweeping the train.

I have been trained to NVQ level 2 in cleaning and BICS (British Institute of Cleaning Standards) and also each task that I may perform has a Cleaning Manual which I am trained in. I also have training in COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) to ensure I fully understand how to use safely any chemicals as part of my cleaning duties.

To work in train presentation at Liverpool Street, you need to have good communication skills as I speak to many passengers throughout my day and I also communicate with other departments within Greater Anglia as I report any train defects or graffiti.
