A local train operator has boosted the coffers of a national charity following its annual staff survey.

Abellio Greater Anglia has donated £1077 to Macmillan Cancer Support. After taking part in the colleague opinion survey, which measures and evaluates satisfaction, staff were able to choose which charity they would like the company to donate funds to and a majority chose the national cancer charity.

Tina Viswambaran, Learning and Engagement Manager at Abellio Greater Anglia, said: “We are very pleased to have raised this amount of money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Many of our colleagues have been affected by cancer and we hope this donation will help support those who have been affected by the condition.”

Shaun Campbell, Macmillan’s fundraising manager for Norfolk and Suffolk, said: “To hear that the staff from Abellio Greater Anglia voted for Macmillan to receive this money is amazing. The money raised will go a huge way to supporting more people living with cancer and we would like to take this opportunity on behalf of Macmillan to say thank you.”
