Abellio Greater Anglia employees reach Awards finals

Two Abellio Greater Anglia employees have been named as finalists in the first ever Abellio Achievement Awards.

The Awards will highlight the individuals and teams from across Abellio’s operating companies, comprising almost 13,000 employees, who deserve special recognition from the parent company.

Simon Pready, Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, and Tony Ellis, a Technician at Abellio Greater Anglia’s Ilford depot, have been recognised for going the extra mile in espousing the Abellio group’s core values and improving performance.

Simon Pready has been chosen as a finalist in the ’Bringing Abellio Values to Life’ award category for his impressive work in leading all aspects of the Single Tender Award process for Abellio Greater Anglia. He was also nominated in the categories of ‘Abellio Way’ and ‘Leader’.

Tony Ellis, a technician at Abellio Greater Anglia’s Ilford depot, has been selected as a finalist in the ‘Innovator’ category for devising an innovative solution to upgrade and improve the CCTV system on Abellio Greater Anglia’s Class 317 train fleet. His ingenuity not only markedly enhanced the availability and reliability of the CCTV system, but also saved the company £250,000 in repair costs.

Other Greater Anglia employees and teams nominated were;

The Class 170 maintenance team at Crown Point Depot, Norwich, for improving the reliability of the Class 170 diesel multiple units (DMUs); Angelo Bonandi, a Norwich based Senior Conductor, who joined the company just over a year ago and since then has been awarded 100% for excellent customer service when assessed by mystery shoppers on six separate occasions; Andrew Ayers, Head of Marketing; Chris Nesbitt, Fleet Technical Manager; Dave Haskell, Development Manager; Janice Gill, Revenue Protection Inspector, Steve Mew, cleaner, Steve Nash, Sales, Enfield Lock Ticket Office; Tom Abraham, Environmental Systems Manager; Andrew Goodrum, Customer Service Director; the Corporate Affairs Team; the Customer Service Management team; the Driving Simulator team; the Inspire Initiative Management team; the Liverpool Street Revenue Protection team; the Operations Management team; the Revenue Protection team; the Seven Sisters Dispatch team; the Train Presentation (Deep Clean programme) team and the Wickford conductors team.

The award winners will be announced at a ceremony on 12th March in Cheshire.
