Abellio Greater Anglia focuses on cleaning at Cheshunt station

Cheshunt rail station is looking smarter and cleaner, after deep cleaning was carried out.

A team of cleaners descended on the station with a trailer-mounted high pressure hot water ‘Dibo’ cleaner to thoroughly jet wash the footbridge, removing encrusted gum, dirt and grime.

The ‘Dibo’ was also used to clean stairwells, risers and all internal surfaces in the toilets and waiting rooms, and to remove gum on the pavement at the front of the station.

The deep clean helps to bring the station up to the high standard expected by customers and create a smarter, more welcoming environment.

In addition, the deep clean has helped to improve the station’s results in the company’s Service Quality Standards (SQS) audit, which is regularly carried out by a team of mystery shoppers. The station now regularly achieves SQS scores of over 90%.

To enhance the station further still, a new coffee shop, ‘Latte To Go’, recently opened on Platform 2 offering hot and cold refreshments, snacks and pastries.

Abellio Greater Anglia’s Area Customer Service Manager, Alan Neville, said, “I hope that customers will notice a real improvement to the station environment as our enhanced cleaning regime, new coffee shop and recently installed cycle racks create improved waiting facilities at Cheshunt.”
