Rail passengers using Norwich rail station received advice on cycle security from British Transport Police officers as part of National Bike Week.

Sergeant Paul Thomson and PC Mel Dobbs were on hand at the Abellio Greater Anglia station to provide information and free security marking to cyclists on the morning of 18th June.

The Officers security marked 32 cycles during the event and gave away free cycle locks as well as offering advice to bike owners on how to correctly leave their cycle locked up.

Marked cycles are also registered on the crime-fighting database, which can help police recover property in the unfortunate event of a theft.

Sergeant Thomson said: “It’s important cyclists have their bike correctly marked, why is why we were pleased to host this cycle surgery in partnership with Abellio Greater Anglia.”
