Greater Anglia’s new timetable commences on Sunday 9 December.

The timetable features a new hourly frequency of service on the East Suffolk line between Ipswich and Lowestoft, following the completion of works in conjunction with Network Rail and Suffolk County Council to install a new passing loop at Beccles.

There is much less pre-planned engineering work requiring bus replacement in 2013 as part of this new timetable. As previously announced, Network Rail and Greater Anglia have together agreed to reduce the amount of planned disruptive engineering work and need for bus replacement services from December 2012, including this Christmas and at weekends in 2013. Under the new improvement works schedule for 2013, only two Saturdays on the mainline will include a bus replacement journey, and only seven Sundays are similarly affected. There are no significant bus replacements planned from the end of March until early October.

There are some minor timing changes in the new timetable to services on the following routes: Romford to Upminster, Southend Victoria / Shenfield to London, Norwich to London and other mainline route services, Cambridge / Peterborough to Ipswich and Norwich to Great Yarmouth / Lowestoft and Sheringham.

On the West Anglia route there are also minor timing changes to some services between Bishops Stortford, Broxbourne, Cambridge, Cheshunt, Chingford, Enfield Town, Hertford East and London.

Customers are advised to check their travel details in advance and printed versions of the new timetable are available now from Greater Anglia’s staffed stations or customers can download information from the Greater Anglia website.
