Generous passengers at Abellio Greater Anglia’s Wivenhoe station raised £218 for Breast Cancer Care on Friday 1 July.

Cupcakes, scones, and fresh strawberries and cream were on the menu at the station, along with a raffle and competition to raise further funds.

Petrina Murphy, Area Customer Service Manager, said: “We are very pleased to have raised this much money for Breast Cancer Care, a very important charity which is close to our hearts. We would like to thank our superb customers for their generosity and support.”

Jayne Sumner, Rail Engagement Manager at Essex County Council, said: “Almost everyone has been affected by cancer and the money raised from this event will help to fund vital research into the condition. We would like to say a huge thank you to the local community in Wivenhoe who supported this event.”
