Wi-Fi Channel Latest - 11th July 2016

Currently we are developing a new Wi-Fi channel, with our partner C3. The new service provides additional content as well as FREE Wi-Fi and includes: journey planning tools, free magazines, UK news feeds, world affairs, sports, entertainment, science and tech, lifestyle features and movie featurettes. This content will be improved continuously over the coming months.

The service is being mobilised over several phases:

Phase 1 - Wi-Fi Stations - C3 have now fully taken over the Wi-Fi service previously managed by the Cloud at all our Wi-Fi enabled stations. All but one of our Wi-Fi stations are now live and Wi-Fi upgrades to help improve connectivity will continue starting with Cambridge, Ipswich and Norwich. The service at Roydon has been affected by building work but should be live by the end of October this year.

Phase 2 - Intercity Trains - our second phase offers a completely FREE Wi-Fi service installed on all Intercity (Norwich – London) services. This includes a brand new high performance Wi-Fi system and media service. The first test vehicle has now been fitted successfully and the full programme should be complete by the end of October 2016. Unfortunately in the intervening period, interruptions to the Wi-Fi service will be inevitable but our engineering teams will try to keep this to minimum. We apologise in advance but we are confident that our new service will be worth waiting for!
