Abellio Greater Anglia has been helping to promote the work of the MND Association.

The train operator has been supporting the MND Association by donating poster space to the charity at 100 stations across East Anglia, throughout June (MND awareness month). This year the posters feature Mark (pictured with his daughter Cheryl) and Charlie, both living with MND. The theme of the campaign is based around ‘Voice’ as 80-95% of people with MND will experience communication problems, having a significant impact on their quality of life and the people they love.

Jason Brandon Abellio Greater Anglia’s Marketing Manager said: “We hope that by giving the MND Association poster space at 100 of our stations around the region, we will assist the charity in raising the profile of the work they do. We are pleased to be able to support them.”

The MND Association is the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland that funds and promotes global research into the disease and provides support for people affected by MND. The MND Association has over 3,000 active volunteers, some of which are Colchester based, all of whom are dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by MND, now and in the future.

Karen Brown of the Colchester Branch of the MND Association said: “We are extremely grateful to Abellio Greater Anglia for their assistance in helping us to raise awareness of the MND Association. MND is a rapidly progressing neurological condition and around half of those diagnosed die within 14 months. That’s why it is so important to spread the word during MND awareness month and raise the profile of the charity.”
