There is a new arrival at Colchester station in the shape of stunning new floral displays now on show at this busy Essex station; thanks to the ingenuity of Colchester in Bloom.

Colchester in Bloom were the masterminds behind the beautiful new arrangements including tubs and giant trugs. Volunteers from Colchester in Bloom kindly donated their time and expertise to create many of the arrangements, with many of the plants grown from seed, whilst the experts at Craft Nurseries planted up the half barrels on the platforms. The day to day maintenance of the flowers is being undertaken by local Abellio Greater Anglia staff.

Sherry Hodgson, Treasurer of Colchester in Bloom said: “We were really pleased to help create the new floral displays at Colchester, for the benefit of everyone who visits the station. The variety of plants and flowers brighten up the station, creating a more cheerful environment for both customers and staff alike.”

Sherry herself grew many of the plants from seed and spent hours planting up many of the new displays at the station.

Tanya Jacques Abellio Greater Anglia’s Area Customer Service Manager said: “The new floral displays at Colchester station look stunning and have created an eye catching gateway to the town. We’d like to say a very big thank you to Colchester in Bloom and Craft Nurseries for their help in creating them; we are delighted with the result – they are just the ticket.”
