Greater Anglia’s Newport station is a riot of winter colour, thanks to some new floral displays which have been installed at this popular Essex station.

New stylish ‘flower pods’ have been fitted to the station railings, filled with bright winter bedding and evergreen plants for lasting interest.

Judith Bowers from ‘Bill Flowers’, a local Newport company, donated the flowers, worth over £250, she also gave her time and expertise to install the ‘pods’ and plant them up. Now Newport station is home to ten bright flower pods, bringing cheer in the winter months to this corner of Essex.

Paul Stannard Greater Anglia’s Area Customer Services Manager said: “We’re really grateful to Judith for donating the flowers, her time and expertise to bring some winter cheer to Newport station. The new displays brighten up the station for the benefit of all who travel through here. We’d like to thank Judith for her efforts.”

Judith Bowers has been working with local station adopters Jeremy and Trisha Rose, and train operator Greater Anglia to enhance the station environment.
