Much-loved stars of Panto-land will jump aboard a Wherry Lines train at Lowestoft (Oh no they won’t! Oh yes they will!) next week and travel to Norwich to promote travelling to this year’s Panto by rail.

Ugly Sisters Lav & Lou, from this year’s production of ‘Cinderella’ at the Lowestoft Marina will entertain passengers on the 08.50 from Lowestoft to Norwich on Tuesday 3rd December and call in at Norwich station to encourage residents and visitors to leave the car and parking worries behind and enjoy a trip to the theatre by rail.

The Pantomime promises to be great fun for all the family and stars former Carry on Cleo and Coronation Street star Amanda Barrie as the Fairy Godmother, Suzanne David as Cinderella and Mike Newman as Buttons. The Ugly Sisters are played by Dean Horner and Oliver Gray.

Abellio Greater Anglia’s frequent rural train services from Norwich to Lowestoft make the train an easy and convenient option for a day or evening out.

And theatre-goers who travel by rail will receive a free tea or coffee either during the interval at any performance, or before or after the show on production of a valid rail ticket.

Abellio Greater Anglia’s Area Customer Service Manager, James Reeve, said, “Abellio Greater Anglia’s Wherry Lines services offer a real alternative to the car with many easily accessible attractions along the line and the added benefits of no parking problems. We are delighted to welcome The Ugly Sisters on board one of our services and support the Marina Theatre in encouraging theatre goers to arrive by train.”

Ian Clarke of the Marina Theatre, Lowestoft said, “We are thrilled that this year’s most easterly pantomime will star Amanda Barrie as the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella. Traditionally our panto audience travels from throughout the region, so we are delighted to have teamed up with Abellio Greater Anglia to encourage more people to come by rail.”

Cinderella runs from Thursday 17 December 2013 to Saturday 4 January 2014. Booking in advance is recommended. Rail passengers who have booked in advance must show their valid rail ticket to receive complimentary refreshments. For show times, booking and information on performances contact the Marina Theatre box office on 01502 533200 or visit www.marinatheatre.co.uk

The Marina Theatre, on Lowestoft Marina, is a 10 minute walk from Lowestoft rail station.

Wherry Lines train services between Norwich and Lowestoft operate via Brundall, Cantley, Reedham, Haddiscoe, Somerleyton and Oulton Broad North.
