Train Service Performance in May improves at Greater Anglia

Greater Anglia - the region’s train operator – has reported a further improvement in train punctuality during May. The public performance measure (PPM) for all Greater Anglia trains operating in the four-week period ended 26 May was 92.5% which is above the overall national train service performance in May of 92.3%.

Greater Anglia train punctuality has improved each month since February when the company began operation of the franchise with May performance of 92.5% showing a further improvement on the April result of 92.3%, as the company continues to make progress in partnership with Network Rail to deliver better train service performance.

The operator’s Metro services between Liverpool Street and Shenfield / Southend Victoria performed exceptionally well with 95.6% PPM in May. Services on the Rural routes network in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire saw a PPM of 95.3%. West Anglia route and Mainline PPM was 91.1% and 90.9% respectively.

Ruud Haket, Managing Director Greater Anglia said: “I am encouraged that we have seen some further improvements in train punctuality in May continuing a positive trend. We recognise however, that there is still much more work to do in delivering consistent levels of train service performance across the region we serve and together with our colleagues at Network Rail all our efforts are focused on further improvement.”
