A Ticket Office supervisor who has raises thousands of pounds for charity and puts on fun events for customers at her station is in the running for an international award.

Laura Englestone, Ticket Office Supervisor at Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft, is nominated for the Abellio ‘Employee of the Year Award’, out of 13,000 employees worldwide, for raising thousands of pounds for charity, genuinely caring for her customers and colleagues, and putting on many fun events that brighten Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft rail stations.

She is among nine Greater Anglia employees who have been nominated to receive Abellio Achievement Awards for their commitment and dedication that has helped the business and its customers. The Smart Card Team - Kamelia Lazarova, Jodie Bath, Richard Walton and Paul Morris - have been nominated for ‘Team of the Year’ for the successful introduction of new Smart Cards for Greater Anglia’s passengers.

The team has managed the successful roll out of 48,000 Smart products so far.

Paper season tickets can be swapped for a Smart Card, which is easy to renew and can be tapped on ticket barriers to pass through.

Dawn Robinson, Head of Learning & Talent Development, is nominated for the ‘Areas of Excellence’ Award for designing and delivering a new internal junior talent management programme that achieved some outstanding results after the two year pilot, including being recognised as best practice, and developed 65 employees.

Kim Bucknell, Head of Revenue Protection, is nominated for the ‘Leader of the Year Award’ for the support she offers to her colleagues, often giving up time off to provide support and help to her team.

The winners will be announced at an Awards ceremony on 22 March.

Jamie Burles, Managing Director at Greater Anglia, said, “We know that we have colleagues all over the network making a difference every day and I would like to congratulate our employees on their nominations and thank them for all their hard work.

"Recognising individuals and teams at a group level through the Abellio Achievement Awards, will help to further drive a culture of excellence in everything we do and demonstrates the dedication and commitment of all our staff to provide excellent service and performance to our customers.”
