How can I buy one of Greater Anglia’s Hare Fares?

Are you planning a half term trip or looking to bag a Black Friday bargain in the shops? We’re helping rail passengers save money this autumn with the return of our popular Hare Fares. With return trips available from just £10, it’s the perfect time to wrap up warm and head to the coast for a refreshing walk, get a head start on your Christmas shopping or enjoy a half-term getaway with the kids.

Where can I buy a Hare Fare?

Hare Fares are available exclusively at www.greateranglia.co.uk and on the Greater Anglia app. You can buy them anytime from now until 30 October for travel before 2 December.

You can buy as many Hare Fares as you like and there are thousands of bargain fares available. Hare Fares are valid on standard-class, off-peak day return journeys only. Kids can travel for just £2 with any adult. Railcards and other discounts can’t be used with Hare Fares.

How much are Hare Fares?

There are 3 zonal prices for Hare Fares which are based on the distance you travel. These are £10, £15 or £20 return and offer massive savings over the normal off-peak fares. The best thing is there is no limit on the number of tickets you can buy. All you need to do is book by 30 October.

Example Hare Fare ticket prices:

£10 return: Cambridge to London, Chelmsford to London, Norwich to Cambridge

£15 return: Chelmsford to Ipswich, Colchester to London, Southend to Colchester

£20 return: Chelmsford to Norwich, Norwich to London, Shenfield to Norwich

Where can I travel to?

Hare Fares are available for off peak journeys between any two stations on the Greater Anglia network. Escape the lights of London for the big skies of East Anglia, with plenty of coastlines, cities, and countryside all accessible by rail. We’re spoilt for choice in East Anglia, but if you need a helping hand, here are some suggestions www.greateranglia.co.uk/destinations

Remember Greater Anglia also has a range of other great value fares which are available all year round, including GroupSave for people travelling in a group of three or more, a special London evening out fare for those staying overnight in the capital and a Club 50 discount for those over age 50.

For the best value fares, passengers should book in advance and the earlier you book, the more you can save. For the cheapest fares, book direct on the Greater Anglia website or on the Greater Anglia app to avoid booking fees
