For those looking to keep the kids entertained this Easter, Greater Anglia is encouraging families to make the most of the break with some great value day trips across East Anglia, ensuring all families have an ‘egg-cellent’ break.

To make it even easier and more convenient for families to have a ‘cracking’ weekend, a Families & Friends Railcard can be used for savings of up to a 1/3 OFF most rail fares. The card covers up to four adults and four children, with savings of up to a third on most adult rail fares and 60% savings on the cost of child fares. Families using the Family & Friends Railcard can also take advantage of Greater Anglia’s offers across some of East Anglia’s top attractions, where customers will receive 2FOR1 admissions or other great savings. With some engineering works planned for the Easter Weekend, it is always advisable to check before travelling to ensure that any bank holidays plans can continue without a hitch.

Heritage horse riding

From hearing inspiring tales of British horse racing history to creating egg cup masterpieces, Palace House’s Heritage Centre has many Easter themed surprises planned. Families can take part in the Easter family trail and quiz around the galleries, head to the craft pod and design their own egg cup, meet real life ex-racehorses, have encounters with miniature donkeys and even put their new found knowledge to the test by visiting the racehorse simulator.
