Greater Anglia’s customers and staff at Cambridge North station are set to make the festive period a little brighter for children at Addenbrooke’s Hospital after donating toys and goodies.

Everything from teddy bears and toys to games and toiletry sets, plus the odd box of chocolates, were given throughout the month of December for all children and young people on the ward, aged from babies to 17-year-olds.

Samantha Dobson, Greater Anglia, Assistant Area Customer Service Manager, said:

“What else is there to say except a huge ‘thank you’ to our customers and colleagues at Cambridge North?

“They came up with the idea and we ended up with two big boxes and a bag with teddy bears and all sorts of other items too.

“Everyone has donated so much to hopefully bring a little joy for the children on the ward at Christmas. We hope the gifts are well received.”

A spokesperson for Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said:

“Each year we are overwhelmed by the public’s generosity and this Christmas is no exception.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to Greater Anglia’s customer and staff at Cambridge North station for thinking of our young patients at this special time.”
