Greater Anglia will run two special additional trains for Ipswich Town football fans travelling to Cambridge United’s Abbey Stadium on Saturday 16 October for the derby match.

Services arriving before the game will depart Ipswich at 09.20, 10.10 (additional service calling at Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge only), 10.20, 11.20 and 12.20.

After the match, services will depart Cambridge at 17.47 and 18.06 (additional service calling at Bury St Edmunds, Stowmarket and Ipswich only), 18.47 and later as per the usual timetable.
Martin Moran, Greater Anglia’s Commercial, Customer Services and Train Presentation Director, said: “We know this match is very important to many of our customers, which is why we’re running additional trains. We want to make it as easy as possible for people to attend, and there will be extra members of staff helping people with their journeys.

“To save time and beat the queues, passengers are advised to buy tickets online or via the Greater Anglia app before they travel.

“Our new trains are longer and have more seats, however we would ask everyone to be patient while boarding as we are expecting higher than usual passenger numbers on these services.”

Customers are advised to use the full length of trains and platforms and to wear a face covering at busy stations and on trains.
