Greater Anglia is officially supporting the World Para Athletics Championships London 2017, which start later this week – and putting on extra and longer trains to help sports fans attend.

The train company is official rail provider for the Championships, which take place from 14 to 23 July, at the London Stadium, at Stratford.

In addition, Greater Anglia is also providing advertising sites to promote the Championships to train passengers throughout East Anglia.

Greater Anglia is running extra trains and making some trains longer to help people get to and from the event.

Customers are advised to check before they travel on the Greater Anglia website or app for details of extra services.

People requiring passenger assistance for these services are advised to book early as services are expected to be busy.

Andy Camp, Greater Anglia Commercial Director, said: “This is such an exciting event and we are thrilled to be supporting it.”

“We run trains to Stratford which is just minutes away from the London Stadium and hopefully we’ll make sports fans’ lives a little easier by running extra and longer trains throughout the games.

“I hope we can in some way contribute to the organisers’ plans to #FilltheStadium and recreate the buzz from the Paralympics.”
