Rail passengers can talk directly to Greater Anglia rail managers as the train operator announces the first of its ‘Meet the manager’ feedback sessions of the year in Norfolk and Suffolk.

The events will take place from 0700-0900 on Monday 27 January at Great Yarmouth and on Wednesday 29 January at Lowestoft.

They will give passengers the chance to raise any issues or suggestions as well as find out more about the engineering works taking place on the Norwich - Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft lines between 1 and 24 February.

The work to install brand new modern signalling – replacing a Victorian semaphore system will take part in stages, with a rail replacement bus service operating as follows:

  • Saturday 1 February to Sunday 2 February – rail replacement bus service between Norwich and Yarmouth
  • Monday 3 February to Sunday 16 February – rail replacement bus service between Norwich and Yarmouth, Norwich and Lowestoft and Beccles and Lowestoft
  • Monday 17 February to Sunday 23 February – rail replacement bus service between Norwich and Lowestoft

For details of revised train and bus times, check the “service alterations” section of the Greater Anglia website and select the appropriate travel date.

Martin Moran, Greater Anglia’s Commercial, Customer Service and Train Presentation Director, said, “It’s really important to us to hear directly from passengers about what matters to them and answer any questions they may have about their services - and particularly with this major work coming up, it’s even more important that they can speak directly to a senior member of our team.

“The work is an important part of the transformation and modernisation of the railway in this part of our network and should lead to a much more reliable service for our customers.

“We will make sure that everyone is still able to complete their journey, even if part of it is by bus.”

Further ‘Meet the Manager’ sessions will take place regularly around the network throughout the year.

The company also holds Meet the Manager events on some trains and on Twitter.
