Thousands of discounted rail tickets for journeys on the Greater Anglia network are on sale from as little as £3, as the Great British Rail Sale gets underway today.

From 23-29 January, customers can save up to 50% off selected advance tickets on thousands of journeys across the whole of the UK, including the Greater Anglia network.

Customers can now travel to destinations including London, Cambridge, Southend, Colchester, Ipswich and Norwich from just £3 one-way.

Rail sale prices on the Greater Anglia network are:

  • Norwich to London Liverpool Street - £5
  • Cambridge to London Liverpool Street - £4
  • Sheringham/Great Yarmouth/Lowestoft to London Liverpool Street - £6
  • Ipswich to London Liverpool Street - £5
  • Colchester to Norwich - £4
  • Southend Victoria to London Liverpool Street - £3

Tickets will be available for travel between 30 January and 15 March, and they must be bought a minimum of one day before the date of travel.

Martin Moran, Greater Anglia’s Commercial and Customer Services Director, said: “Customers travelling across East Anglia can save up to 50% on advance purchase tickets. There is only a limited number and when they’re gone, they’re gone.

“The Great British Rail Sale is a great opportunity for people to explore everything that East Anglia and our national capital have to offer – there is so much to see and do. Take a trip to London to soak up the sights, visit one of the many wonderful coastal destinations or explore a new town or city.”

Great British Rail Sale tickets are available in limited numbers on selected services, valid only on the date and train shown on the ticket and for the booked journey and train company. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis but are not limited to one per person.

Tickets are available to buy via the Greater Anglia app, website, at Greater Anglia ticket offices, or by calling 0345 6007245 (option 2).

Rail Sale tickets are not for sale on Greater Anglia trains on weekends due to engineering works, or on Friday 2 February due to the planned industrial action by ASLEF. ASLEF members will be taking action short of a strike between 30 January and 6 February which will lead to a small number of cancellations on most routes. Customers purchasing tickets for travel during these times should check before they travel.
