Customers who use Cambridge car park are advised it will close temporarily, later this week.

The rail station car park will close from 09.00 on Friday 8 November and will re-open just after midnight on Monday 11 November.

Commuters can park their cars before 09.00 on Friday and can collect their vehicles at any point during the day.

The rail station car park will be used over the weekend to run rail replacement bus services for Greater Anglia, Great Northern and Cross Country, while Network Rail carries out engineering work.

Buses will replace trains between March and Peterborough all day on Saturday to allow Network Rail to carry out ballast cleaning.

On Saturday and Sunday, buses will replace trains between Cambridge and Cambridge North, Cambridge and March, and Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds all day. This is due to platform extension work at Waterbeach and maintenance work in the Cambridge area.

Mike Barry, Greater Anglia’s Area Customer Service Manager, said: “Customers can still park at Cambridge station on Friday, providing they arrive before 09.00. They will be able to retrieve their car at any point during the day. The car park will re-open as normal on Monday.

“There is also plenty of space for people to park bicycles at the Cycle Point and customers can still be dropped off at the station.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
