Advance ticket information

Please note that for the remainder of 2018, Advance tickets on days affected by engineering work only will be released later than usual, as late as six weeks before departure, because of delays in Network Rail validating the amended timetables. Later in the year, the delay will reduce to a few weeks, and affected trains will generally be available for bookings around 9 or 10 weeks before departure. Services that are unaffected by engineering work will be opened 12 weeks before departure as usual. We will normally keep affected trains closed to bookings until the final amended timetable has been published by Network Rail, but there may be a very few occasions where there is short-notice engineering work and services may be amended after having been opened for bookings. Please therefore re-check your travel times after six weeks before departure, as they may have changed, particularly at weekends.
