Get cheaper train tickets
Make your money go further when you travel by train. Check out our different ticket types to find what’s best for your travel, such as Advance tickets which are cheaper train tickets when you book in advance. Learn more about tips for booking advance tickets .
Alternatively, if you need to book closer to your travel date (or on the day) check out our Off-Peak fares. These let you save money by travelling outside of the busy commuter hours.

Boost train tickets savings by booking your train tickets in advance at off-peak times. Then apply a discount using a railcard and if you’re travelling with a group of 3-9 adults, you could save 1/3 on top!
Kids who are under 5 years old get to travel for free our trains and tickets for anyone 5-15 years old cost half the price of an adult fare.

Make savings all year round with Railcards
With a wide range of different Railcards you can make savings on your travels or commute. For example, if you’re 16-17, you can save up to 50% on Anytime, Off-Peak, Advance and Season tickets.
Other Railcards like the 16-25 and Family & Friends Railcard saves 1/3 off most rail fares for only £30 a year, leaving you some extra money for your day out! Club 50 Railcard not only gives you 20% off fares, but other amazing discounts and offers.

Flexi Season Tickets
Need to travel or commute a few days a week but not sure when? This one is for you. With our Flexi Season Ticket you’ll receive 8 passes to use over a 28 day period for a specific journey. You can travel with the same flexibility as an Anytime Day Return ticket too.
Buying Flexi Season tickets online couldn’t be easier. You can purchase your ticket quickly and easily through the GA app or on our website and load directly onto your Smart Card. So no need to worry about queuing at the station for your ticket.
Child Train Fares
Travelling by train is a great, convenient way for families to travel. Even more convenient with amazing child fares. All children under 5 can use our trains for free and children aged between 5-15 get to travel at half the cost of an adult fare.
If you book off-peak in advance this can be great value.

Duo tickets
Travelling with a partner or friend at the weekend? Check out our Duo offer! When two adults travel together on our Duo ticket*, you can save 25% off your total fare.
*Only available on certain routes.
Book online for no booking fees
Skip queuing at the ticket office and book your train tickets online on our website or mobile app. Unlike other online booking platforms, we don't charge any booking fees when you buy your fare. Train tickets on our network are available as e-tickets which can save time and provide more flexibility than collecting at the station.
Your e-tickets can be emailed to you and can be shown to staff using a smart device. Worried about running out of battery? They can also be printed out to use as a physical backup and charging points can be found on our New trains. You can also keep your tickets organised in the ticket wallet section of our app and certain tickets can be loaded onto a Smart Card using a compatible device.
